About Al-Itqaan
Al-Itqaan is the Islamic education program of Madaniyya Academy. It’s built for those who want to seriously study their deen — but need something structured, flexible, and realistic alongside school, work, and family life.
The name Itqaan comes from the Arabic word meaning to do something with skill, care, and excellence — not merely to complete a task, but to do it well and with precision. This meaning reflects the spirit and standard that the program seeks to cultivate in the pursuit of knowledge.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ إِذَا عَمِلَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَمَلًا أَنْ يُتْقِنَهُ
“Indeed, Allah loves that when one of you does something, he does it with itqaan (excellence).”
(Reported by al-Bayhaqi in Shuʿab al-Īmān)
At the center of Al-Itqaan is the Ibn Abbās Program — an evening, course-based path designed for high school students, postsecondary learners, and adults. Whether you’re looking to commit fully or just begin with one class, the program is designed to meet you where you are and help you grow from there.

Pathway to Advanced Study
The syllabus of this program has been carefully put together for students who are considering a future in full-time Ālimiyyah studies. It is designed to give you a strong, structured foundation that aligns with what recognized institutes expect at a higher level.
Students who complete the full program — meeting course requirements, maintaining consistent academic effort, and earning the recommendation of their teachers — may be eligible for advanced placement.
Those who qualify can potentially be admitted directly into the 3rd year of the full-time Ālimiyyah program at Jamiah Qasimul Uloom in Scarborough, with the possibility of additional testing to confirm eligibility.
What Makes Al-Itqaan Different
This isn’t drop-in learning or one-off lectures. Al-Itqaan is built to give you direction.
You move forward step by step. You build understanding over time. And you stay connected to learning in a way that actually lasts — not something that fades after a weekend or short course.
You’re not expected to put your life on hold to study. Instead, the program is designed so you can keep moving forward in your deen while managing everything else responsibly.
Do not hold yourself back from the noble knowledge of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ. Take a step toward it with consistency and purpose — and begin your journey with Al-Itqaan today.
